Rome and Italy in general is very much a romanticized place, so I was super excited to experience it first hand. I definitely should have planned this trip out better, but I'm happy to share with you the lessons I learned, friends I made, and the reality of Rome! It's a city that is filled with stunning ancient sites, but also a city that is facing financial challenges, a city with an economy that is heavily dependent on tourism.
