SYDNEY AIRPORT TRAIN $5 HACK: How to catch the train for under $5

The Sydney Airport train can be expensive. At nearly $18 one way between the CBD and the airport, it is not an economical way to get to the airport. In this video, I will show you how to get from Circular Quay (The Sydney Opera House) to Sydney Domestic Terminal for under $5. Details below: BREAKDOWN OF STEPS: STEP 1: Have a card On Sydney public transport, you can either tap on or off with an Opal card (you can buy this either at the airport or convenience shops in the city) OR any major debit/credit card. STEP 2: Find a train station If you want to directly catch the Sydney Airport train, go to one of the following stations: TOWN HALL; WYNYARD; CIRCULAR QUAY; ST JAMES; MUSEUM; CENTRAL; GREEN SQUARE; MASCOT. Use public transport and make your way to one of these stations to catch the airport train. STEP 3: Take Airport Train to Mascot Station At one of the above stations, look for a platform with an airplane symbol, this signifies that the airport train departs from that platform. When you are on the platform look at the departure board and only board a train which has an AIRPLANE LOGO next to it on the departure screen. If you accidently get on the wrong train (as I have before), get off at Central and ask for help there. If you are on the correct train, get off at Mascot Station (the stop just before the Domestic Airport train station). If you get off at the Domestic Airport train station you will be paying more than $10 in extra fees, so get off at Mascot if you want to save money. STEP 4: Find Coward St Bus Stop B There is only one entrance and exit to Mascot station. Once you are out, use google maps (or my video) to find Coward St Bus Stop B. STEP 5: Take the bus to the domestic terminal Ensure you get on the right bus! If in doubt, ask the driver whether that bus goes to the domestic terminal. The bus service you should take are either: 400; 420; 420N; N20. Make sure you tap on and off on the bus, otherwise you will be charged more fees than necessary. STEP 6: Find your terminal Once you get off the bus, the bus drops you off right in front of the Qantas domestic terminal (Terminal 3). If you are flying domestically with either Jetstar, Virgin Australia or REX, it is a 5 minute walk to Terminal 2. You can either follow the signs to Terminal 2 or you can watch my other video about how to transfer from the Qantas domestic terminal to Terminal 2:    • SYDNEY AIRPORT DOMESTIC TRANSFER: Ter...   PRICING During peak hours (MON to FRI 6:30AM to 10AM; and MON to FRI 3PM to 7PM) this trip will cost you approximately $4.50. During non peak hours (Any other time than this, including weekends) it should cost you about $3.10. -- VIDEO BREAKDOWN -- 00:00 - Introduction 00:38 - STEP 1: Have a card 00:55 - STEP 2: Find a train station 01:19 - STEP 3: Take airport train to Mascot Station 01:46 - STEP 4: Find Coward St Bus Stop B 02:29 - STEP 5: Take the bus to the domestic terminal 03:06 - STEP 6: Find your terminal 03:36 - Pricing
