BMW E30 Rust Repair Nightmare: Restoration E.7 - P..-2/2|Grinding BMW E30 Restoration Episode 7 - Wheel Well Rust Repair - Part 2/2 The wheel well/frame rail has finally done. In the second part you'll see how it turned out. Hope you enjoy! Final result: This repair did not go to plan for me. There were many mistakes made through the process. I managed to overcome some mistakes, but not all of them. Also, my old Esab 1-phase welder and my welding skills seems to be working only occasionally. But we'll get the job done eventually. The final result is a rust free but somewhat OEM- looking wheel well/frame rail. Because this is a restoration project my goal is to make the body of the car as OEM as I can. Fortunately this is a project car which has no deadline. So I may return to this part later if I am not happy with the outcome of this repair. But even if I don't redo this part is not that visible anyway once all of the parts are re-installed in their places. As you can see in the video that the washer fluid tank covers most of this part so we should be good! In addition I will smoothen out all of the welds with some bondo once all of the welds are done in the engine bay. Future: Left hand side of the engine bay has the same rust spots to be done. Fortunately it's not looking as bad as the right hand side used to look before the repairs. I will not go as deep on the repairs of the left side when I start fixing it. It is just way too much work for me if I continue working on it like this. Thanks for all the comments and subscribes so far!
