WALKING IN ESSEX | SHALFORD | LIFE AND WORK OF ERIC RAVILIOUS

A 6 mile circular walk in Shalford, near Braintree in Essex, following in the footsteps of the war artist Eric Ravilious. We visit the church where a war memorial commemorates him, walk through the fields and woods and walk beside the River Pant that inspired some of his work. We even visit the farmhouse he rented shortly before his untimely death in 1942 and walk across the Iron Bridge that featured in one of his most well known paintings. I had never heard of Eric Ravilious up until starting this walk, but since then I have learnt so much about him and his life from researching for this video. I'd never even heard of Shalford before! Walking is teaching me new stuff all the time. I hope my videos do the same for you.
