February 4th is my 25th birthday, and I knew as soon as I heard this song that I had to do an edit with it! 🎉 I recently had a thought that I would maybe do a special video for this birthday, so I did a search for songs that are about being 25 xD And I ended up finding this gem! It's actually pretty wild how much I relate to it. (Birthday TED Talk incoming) When I think about how I'm a quarter of a century old now, that makes me feel sooo old, lol... But then I remember that with age comes wisdom. I'm not the same person as I was when I was 17, not by a long shot. And I'm so grateful for that, because I've learned so much about myself, about God, about the world and how I relate to all of them. I wouldn't go back to being 17 if someone paid me a million dollars, because where I am now took me so much hard work and personal growth. Being a teenager has its pros and cons, as does adulthood, same with all things. But the benefits of learning to be more comfortable in my own skin, gaining more courage to put myself out there, developing a better understanding of and relationship with God...those things are well worth saying goodbye to my younger years for. However, even though we all must grow up to a certain degree, I am determined to always reserve a space inside me for the childlike part of myself...The part that sees a sunset or colorful clouds in the sky and gazes with awe, the part that takes joy in little things like sweet comments on my YouTube videos, the part that still sheds a tear during the lantern scene in Tangled. I promise to never let her die, because she helps me to live life to the fullest, and reminds me of what is beautiful and good in this world.
