Goldwing Motorcycle Tour. The Swiss Alps Await

Following on from our week of riding in Germany with friends, we left them to travel back to the UK, whilst we continued south to spend a week exploring the mountain passes in the south of Switzerland. It was a very wet ride as we left Germany which also took us into France, via Strasbourg, just in time for the sun to greet us near the Swiss border town of Basel. The road in Switzerland was very standard until we approached Lucerne. We could see the mountains waiting in front of us. As we arrived at the Furkah Pass, which was still closed from the winter, we were surprised to find that we had to ride onto a train to pass through the mountain. All that prep work on Switzerland and this had slipped us by. It was nervy to ride on the flatbed train to then have to ride into a carriage wondering how we were going to get back off at the other end. Very thankful for the Goldwing reverse gear at that point. We slipped off the train, into the rain on our final few miles ride to our hotel for the next week in Munster. We were looking forward to the week ahead. #goldwing #motorbike #switzerland
