This is a remake of my original Roadhouse Blues video. This updated version has a much better piano sound and much more accurate notes. I’d be confident in saying that this version is 95% note for note to the actual song. Roadhouse Blues was recorded between November 4-5 of 1969. The conception of the song was entirely in the studio with contributions from each member. Robby created the riff, Jim told him to keep looping the riff and everybody else layered their parts over it while Jim crafted the lyrics. This was the return of the Doors back to their roots. Their enthusiasm had been raised 100%, especially after the whole Miami incident and trial. Ray’s part isn’t really that hard, it is an extremely fun song to play. On outtakes of the song you can here that Ray alternated between a normal piano and a tack piano. On the final song, of course, he played a normal piano.
