Running Pendle parkrun in the fog & mist! Christmas parkrun. Over the Pennines to run in Lancashire!

'Twas the week before Christmas and we headed over the Pennines to run Pendle parkrun. I love this time of year for fancy dress and it makes parkrun tourism even more fun as everyone is in such good spirits. Pendle parkrun are now hosting an event on Christmas Day so this was their Xmas themed parkrun. The drive over the Pennines was awful and slow due to very thick fog which made for an eerie morning. Pendle parkrun is a two lap course where you run on grass for half and tarmac for the other (hilly) half. It's been on my list to visit for a very long time so it was great to finally make it over for a visit. It's definitely one we need to revisit when we can take advantage of the incredible views and maybe next time I will get the course right! Touring with friends made for a wonderful morning and finishing off by petting reindeer was the icing on the (Christmas) cake! Wishing you all magical Christmas running, Nicola
