Backpacking Mint Bomber Traverse Alaska

We followed Paxson Woeblers suggestion and did a 4 day, 3 night trek through the Talkeetna Mountains. We were lucky enough to be able to sleep in every single hut and met some incredible people at each stay! Day 1: We started at Gold Mint trailhead and trekked to Mint hut our first night. Took a quick hike up to Moonstone and a jewel lake after dropped our packs. Day 2: headed out over back door gap (which was a seriously technical climb) to bomber hut, dropped our packs at bomber and day hiked to the bomber plane crash site. Stayed at bomber that night. Day 3: headed out to snowbird hut from bomber and got pretty lost. There’s very little trail and lots of bushwhacking and route finding. This 5 mile day was much tougher than originally expected. Stayed in the best hut of the 3 that night with panoramic Mountain View’s! Day 4: headed over snowbird glacier and back to Gold Mint trailhead. Really amazing descent. Disclaimer- this was a pretty intense trail. We met a lot of local Alaskans there that were shocked to see us Marylanders our there. They claimed that this was some of the hardest terrain Alaska had to offer and is as close to mountaineering without gear as you can get. I don’t recommend trying this trail if you’re a first timer and have little navigation skills. But HIGHLY recommend - as you can tell from the video it’s freaking epic.
