Okula girdiğimiz yıl, mezun olacağımız yıla yazmamız için bize kargoyla bir zarf ve boş bir kağıt göndermişlerdi. Gelecekteki kendimize mektup yazıp bu mektubu tekrar okulumuza geri kargolayacaktık ve mezun olduğumuz zaman bu mektupları bize geri yollayacaklardı.Mektubu yazmıştım ama kargo tarihini geçirdiğim için mektubu kargolayamamıştım. Bu yüzden kendi anı kutuma koyup mezun olana kadar bu mektubu açmıyacağıma söz vermiştim. Sonrasında varlığını da unuttum. Mezun olup eve geldiğimde dolaplarımı düzenlerken anı kutumun içine baktım ve yıllar önce yazdığım mektubu buldum. Mektubu tekrar okuduğumda, onu yazarkenki duyguları, o anki umutsuzluğu, depresifliği ve üzüntümü tekrar hissettim. Ama sonra ‘an’a baktığımda aslında o zamandan bu zamana kadar neler başardığımı, neler yaşadığımı gözden geçirmiş oldum. İçim umut ve huzur doldu. We were supposed to write a letter to our future selves and mail it back to the school. I had written the letter, but I missed the mailing deadline, so I couldn’t send it. Instead, I put it in my memory box and promised myself not to open it until graduation. I eventually forgot about it. When I graduated and came home, while organizing my cabinets, I looked inside my memory box and found the letter I had written years ago. Reading the letter again, I re-experienced the feelings of that time: hopelessness, depression, and sadness. But then, looking at the present moment, I reflected on what I had achieved and experienced from then until now. It filled me with hope and peace. I remembered that every pain eventually passes, every wound eventually heals, and the sun is always behind the clouds. I created this video to ensure I never forget that.
