Puketi Forest Hut isn't your usual DOC Hut. Located on the edge of Puketi Forest in Northland, the hut and adjacent campsite are fully accessible by vehicle, so you won't need to walk far to get there. The 18 bunk serviced hut has electricity, with power plugs, lighting and various appliances all available to use. Compared to the campsite, or most other DOC huts for that matter, Puketi Forest Hut is Luxurious. Beside the hut the Puketi Nature Trail is a great short loop through the forest, with a lookout over some magnificent old Kauri trees.
