Hymn Powstańców Śląskich, 1933/34

Na życzenie Pana Pawła Parysa, Muzeum Śląskie w Katowicach - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Silesian Uprisings (German: Aufstände in Oberschlesien; Polish: Powstania śląskie) were a series of three armed uprisings of the Poles and Polish Silesians of Upper Silesia, from 1919 to 1921, against German rule; the resistance hoped to break away from Germany in order to join the Second Polish Republic, which had been established in the wake of World War I. In the latter-day history of Poland after World War II, the insurrections were celebrated as centrepieces of national pride. More: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silesia... Union of Silesian Insurgents, Związek Powstańców Śląskich (ZPŚ), veteran organization founded in 1923, associating participants of the Silesian uprisings 1919-1921. In the interwar period the Union of Silesian Insurgents carried out Polish propaganda among the population of Upper Silesia. Prior to the outbreak of World War II, they organized Voluntary Branches of Insurgents, which fought against German troops entering Silesia. In spite of the terror directed against them, the members of the ZPŚ were conducting underground activities throughout the German occupation. The organization had their anthem which was finally recorded on their order at Syrena-Electro recording studios, Warsaw, early 1934, by orchestra directed by captain Schwarz and a vocal part made by Chór Juranda. Music: Tadeusz Saloni, Lyrics: Emanuel Imiela. The record was pressed in a limited number of copies and the copyrights were reserved by the Union. To-day may be regarded as an absolute rarity and a great historical trace and evidence. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
