Brutally Rating Every CHELSEA Home Kit⚽️🔵

Let’s rate every single Chelsea kit from the Premier League era then We are going all the way from 1992 up until present day in the 23/24 season We start way back in 1992 when Chelsea were sponsored by a company I had never heard of and were sporting a legendary Umbro collar You know the rules, a collar gets an instant 10/10 in every kit rating, not just Chelsea. But has the 91-93 kit passed the test Next up it’s the 93/94 kit, to me this felt like they released exactly the same kit from a couple of years before Towards the back end of the 1990’s Chelsea started coming into their own under their shirt manufacturer Umbro From 1994 up until the year 2000 Chelsea dropped some of the most iconic kits of the Premier League era During those years, the Blues were still sporting a collar and were sponsored by the likes of Autoglass and Coors, which are two iconic Chelsea looks in my opinion I rate Chelsea’s late 90’s kits very highly, as they are a thing of beauty. Brands like Umbro, Adidas and Nike really knew how to drop a naughty strip The 1990’s filled with nonstop nostalgia and revisiting these kits made me think of the likes of the late Gianluca Viali, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Wise and more The 1990’s era for me gets a solid 10/10 in the Chelsea kit ratings We new fast forward to the new millennium and focus on the kits that Chelsea released from the seasons 1999-2000 up until 2009-2010 There are some very memorable Chelsea kits in this era, this was the decade that Chelsea won their first Premier League title in 2005 and then retained the title in the following year of 2006 You have to be very careful when you touch kits like these as they hold sentimental value with lots of the fans There were periods of the 00’s where Chelsea hit the nail on the head with their kits, but there were some absolute shockers during this decade Chelsea scrapping Umbro and opting with Adidas is one of the biggest mistakes they made in my opinion, but are you going to say no to a global brand like Adidas? The 2000’s is when Chelsea are came into their own and their kits were decent. This decade gets a 7/10 in the Chelsea kit ratings The 2010’s is there’s Chelsea’s design and creativity really fell by the wayside in my opinion Chelsea entered this decade with Adidas, but didn’t create a single kit that was outside of the box Just like the decade before, Chelsea had a lot of success in these kits, winning their first Champions League trophy in 2012 and also getting their hands on the Europa League Compared to the previous two decades, Chelsea completely lost their style and edge in the 2010’s which was very weird to see compared to the kite they dropped in years prior to this By the end of the decade, Chelsea were taken over by shirt manufacturer Nike and did things get any better? Absolutely not. Chelsea being taken over by Nike might be when the club really started to go down hill, winning their last Premier League title way back in 2017 The 2010’s were so forgettable for Chelsea kits. Harsh, but this decade gets a 5/10 for Chelsea kit drops Now into the 2020’s and Chelsea haven’t dropped a good kit for close to 20 years in my opinion Yes, Chelsea may have won the 2021 Champions League final, but was the kit that iconic? No, it was a pathetic little navy blue shirt with a Chelsea badge and three logo I know we are only three years into the new decade, but Nike need to buck up their ideas and get more creative 2023 is the first decent kit that Chelsea have dropped in years which is saying something Chelsea need to save the 2020’s whilst they still can. At the moment I’m rating Chelsea’s 2020’s kits at 2/10 #chelsea #cfc #kitratings #premierleague #chelseakits #2324 #footballkits #classicfootballshirts
