In today's video I visit Crystal Bridges Museum to see their new exhibition "Crystals in Art". It's a really spectacular display of awesome mineral specimen from Arkansas and varied pieces of art. I hope you enjoy this vlog about it. This is a sponsored video. As you know from my previous videos, Arkansas is home to some of the largest quartz mines in the world. High quality specimen of beautiful clear quartz crystals are extracted here. The beauty, value and mystery of crystals and gems has captivated humanity for many thousands of years. Crystal Bridges Museum is currently celebrating the connection between Crystals and Art with this groundbreaking exhibit. It is on display until January 6th 2020 and well worth the visit to this beautiful museum. This collection was organized by Crystal Bridges curator of contemporary art Lauren Haynes with guest curator Joachim Pissarro. "Crystals in Art" is the first exhibition of its kind to delve into the complex and diverse connections between crystal and art throughout the world and over time. The exhibit consists of over 75 objects from Ancient Egypt, Rome, China, and beyond. There are ancient artifacts alongside works from contemporary artists that explore the power of crystal in art by finding inspiration from its form, properties, and mysterious qualities. The oldest item on display dates to ca. 2030-1640 B.C. Some of the feautured artists are Albrecht Dürer, Marina Abramović, Ai Weiwei, Alexis Arnold, Anthony James and many more. There are also several spectacular huge Arkansas clear quartz crystals on display that are sure to create awe and wonder. The museum is home to a beautiful permanent exhibition that is always free to the public.There are also ever-changing temporary exhibits that can be viewed for a small fee. Currently, the “North Forest Lights” and “Crystals in Art” are both on display making for a mind-expanding and mystical experience to the museum visitor.
