[2020 추석특집] 소고춤 Sogochum

소고춤은 소고를 들고 추는 춤으로, 농악놀이에 등장하는 소고 연주자의 개인기를 바탕으로 추어지는 춤이다. 소고는 지방에 따라 법고라고 부르는데, 크기가 작고 가벼워서 들고 춤을 추기에 적당하다. 소고춤 역시 악기 연주와 무용을 동시에 해야 하기 때문에 활동성이 편한 의상을 입고 추게 된다. 의상은 종이꽃으로 장식한 고깔을 쓰고, 흰바지저고리에 빨강, 노랑, 파랑의 세 가지 색깔로 된 띠를 맨다. 소고춤은 처음에는 놀이판의 흥을 돋우기 위해서 느린 장단으로 시작했다가 점점 흥에 겨워지면 자진모리의 빠른 장단에 맞추어 활발한 춤사위를 펼친다. 그러나 소고는 실제 소리를 듣기 위해서라기보다 하나의 무용도구로 이용되는 것이고, 춤의 모습은 농사와 수렵, 전쟁 등을 상징하는 춤사위다. -- Sogochum (Small Drums Dance) "Sogochum" is performed while holding an instrument called a sogo. The performance centers on the display of individual talents of the sogo musicians. Depending on the region, the sogo is sometimes called beobgo. The instrument is small and light, thereby appropriate for carrying while dancing. Because "Sogochum" requires the dancer to play and instrument while dancing, the dress in comfortable costumes. They wear peaked hats decorated with paper flowers, white coat and trousers as well as a red, yellow and blue belt. In order to create a leisurely game-like atmosphere, the "Sogochum" begins with a slow rhythm that quickens and eventually leads to dynamic dance movements accompanied by the "Jajinmori". The usage of the sogo is more important as a dancing equipment rather than musical instrument. Moreover, the dance symbolizes farming and harvesting, or war.
