Adreno's Sam Cox floats some issues to consider when choosing a buoy. Small bullet style Adreno floats are great because of how compact they are, which also makes pulling them through the surf easier. The hard nature of the float makes it durable around rocks which are great for shore diving. The included flag lets boats and dive buddies know where you are. It is ballasted so it will always stand upright. The larger Adreno inflatable floats are lightweight and compactable for travel with a tall flag, obvious for your dive buddies and boats and great in blue water diving situations. The float is ballasted so it will stand upright and has an attachment point at the front end on the underside for effective towing. High-pressure mid-size Adreno heavy-duty floats are durable and long lasting. The key difference with these floats is their durability and in turn longevity. The Riffe floats are designed to handle high pressures that can be provided by a compressor. This allows it to maintain shape and drag when pulled under by a fish. These floats do not come with a flag. The larger floats provided by DiveR are aptly named the Dog Stopper. They are designed to withstand the pull of dogtooth tuna and prevent them reaching the reef.
