North Hydro Park and South Hydro Park, Ypsilanti, MI Hydro Park actually consists of North Hydro Park and South Hydro Park. North Hydro Park - 2599 Bridge Rd. Bridge Road between S. Grove Street and Textile Road North Hydro Park is on the north side of Ford Lake Dam (and the river that connects Ford Lake to Belleville Lake); South Hydro Park is on the south side of Dam and river. North Hydro Park is 46 acres and has the Huron River going through it in scenic curves. North Hydro Park has an entrance attendant, parking lot, restrooms, boardwalk and paved trails, as well as interpretive signage, pavilions, and picnic areas. Both North Hydro Park and South Hydro Park are very popular with fishers. South Hydro Park can only be entered by walking down a step path entrance from Bridge Road. Sun setting over Ford Lake - man-made 975 acre lake. The Ford Lake Dam seen here (and Ford Lake itself) were created in the 1930 to provide hydroelectric power to a factory of Ford Motor Company. The Huron River below is going downstream to Belleville Lake (and you will often see boats coming upstream to the dam from the lake).
