To manage permissions, click on a permission role, which takes you to a page divided into three sections: name and description, permission settings, and granting this role. 2. In the "permission settings" section, you have a tab called "permissions" that shows user and administrative permissions. 3. User permissions are for employees and managers, while administrative permissions are for managers and admins. 4. Categories for permissions include calibration, time management, performance management, and more, categorized into user and administrative sections. 5. Important categories for controlling employee profile permissions are "employee data," "effective-dated entities," and "employee view." 6. "Effective-dated" portlets maintain historical records of changes, whereas "non-effective-dated" portlets overwrite previous data. 7. The "employee view" category controls which sections of the employee profile are visible. 8. The employee profile, or people profile, is organized into sections, subsections, and portlets, with fields connected to portlets. 9. Effective-dated portlets, like personal information, have history icons that track changes over time. 10. Understanding the portlet behavior helps determine if it is effective-dated (maintains history) or non-effective-dated (overwrites records).
