After a short taxi we took off to the north and got some nice views of the city as we gradually turned to the southwest towards Switzerland. Our cruise altitude was sort of all over the place. We started at FL330 (33,000 ft) for one minute, then climbed to FL370 (37,000 ft) for six minutes, then went down to FL350 (35,000 ft) for one minute, then back to FL330 for four minutes, after which we started our descent. The approach had a few big turns for sequencing, and took us right over Schaffhausen and the Rheinfall, but eventually we lined up with Runway 14 for landing. Flying into Zürich is one of my favorite things—you watch the beautiful scenery go by as the ground slowly gets closer, and before you know it, you're landing. After landing, we had a pretty short taxi over to the B/D gates.
