As the project chairperson of JCI Zamboanga’s 1st Western Mindanao UNSDG Summit, VP Ced Zabala aimed to raise awareness of the global goals by forging partnerships with various sectors, including the local government and Western Mindanao State University. An excellent leader with a strong sense of purpose, Ced has been an active member for over two years and currently serves as VP for Impact and Regional Communications Director. Under his leadership, the summit achieved remarkable success. Key initiatives included a Commitment Signing with major stakeholders, the invitation of distinguished speakers to share their insights on sustainable development, and the OSOWM Awards recognizing outstanding sustainable organizations. Cedrick's innovative strategies, such as digital marketing and the launch of UNSDG-themed magazines, significantly raised awareness and engagement. The summit fostered regional collaboration, drawing over 500 attendees and securing over Php73,000+ in sponsorships. It featured eight UNSDG-themed competitions, producing 30 advocacy short films and other creative works, showcasing community talent and commitment to sustainability. Cedrick's dedication led to a 27% growth in JCI Zamboanga's membership, demonstrating his ability to inspire and engage the community. His exceptional project management and leadership skills have left a lasting impact, ensuring the summit's success and relevance for future initiatives.
