Brazil's geography is massive! I mean really massive, with a whopping size of 9,984,670 km2 which is almost half of the entire south american continent. It shares land borders with almost all South American countries except Chile, and Ecuador. And it also shares a border with France. Yeah, that’s right! This is not a country, but rather an overseas territory of France called ‘French Guiana”. One major feature of Brazil is the Amazon rainforest, which makes up 60% of the country, making it one of the most forested countries in the world. However, it's not ideal to live in. So, this makes a huge chunk of Brazil's territory unsuitable for human settlement, and that’s means no scope for economic activity. And what is even worse is that about 10% of land is covered with numerous escarpments making it difficult and expensive for infrastructure projects like building roads or railways. In many ways, Brazil should have been a great power like the USA today.
