Quick Elektron Analog RYTM Mk. II jam with the new firmware OS 1.70 update

A few days ago, Elektron released a major firmware update for the Analog RYTM. More sonic potential, quite some usability improvements (not mentioned in this vid: sample start/end point trimming has high resolution now, and you can save sounds from individual parameter-locked steps), and the funny Euclidean mode which I don’t fully understand yet. Still fun to use ;-D What I still miss, and hope for Elektron implementing this in OS 2.0: 1. Everybody wants a 2nd LFO per track. Elektron says: Probably not possible, CPU is maxed out. But what about using the FX LFO as a global 2nd LFO? Could even be routed e.g. to the existing PERF #1 to #4 macros, with depth per performance; that would probably not require much extra programming nor CPU load, and would open a lot of sonic possibilities. 2. A 8-knob page to control the PERFORMANCE makros, say PERF #5 to #12. Controlling those via pad aftertouch is, well, okay, but not very precise; especially since some kind of crosstalk-suppression seems to kick in when pressing neighbouring pads. Also, being able to operate 8 performances while at the same time having the SCNE or MUTE pads available would be fantastic for live use. 3. Everybody wants the Digitakt timestretch/slicing machines on the RYTM sampler. Well, me to, but might not be possible due to CPU load, too ... what should be much easier: Implement an Audio In machine that can be used on per-track base instead of the sample player; with In left / In right / In left+right settings, thus being able to run the Audio In through filters and EGs, and chop it using trigs. 4. Being able to switch tracks to MIDI only, so they won't choke neighboring local tracks. 5. MIDI CC sequencing in combination with Slide would be great. Digitone/Digitakt can sequence CCs, but cannot make them slide. 6. Allowing to store mutes in Scenes. 7. RTRG with Swing, and ability to record RTRG to track converting aftertouch to velocity. Gear used: Analog RYTM Mk. II black on firmware 1.70 (also availyble for RYTM Mk. I) → IGS Volfram Limiter → RME Fireface UC → Recorded directly into Premiere without digital postprocessing. Filmed with a Canon 650 D. (c) 2023 TheGuacamoleXplosion
