Making your milk sustainable - a vision for a sustainable dairy industry

Forum for the Future - http://dairy2020.com/ - has been working with the whole UK dairy supply chain to co-create a vision and framework for a sustainable industry. This animation shows how we did it and explores some of the issues the dairy industry faces as it shifts onto a more sustainable path. We're now working on phase II of the project - laying down the actions across the industry that will make this vision a reality. If you have any questions please do ask below and we will answer them and please can you share this video or favourite it? Thank you. 00m19s How has the dairy industry changed over the last decade? 00m46s So how are you supposed to prepare for the next 10 years? 00m53s Here is how we approached it by bringing together the entire dairy sector to tackle sustainability 00m36s Our four possible future scenarios to create a vision for a sustainable dairy industry 02m10s The vision we created for a sustainable dairy industry 02m25s Our toolkit to allow anyone to do the same. You can find the full framework, scenarios and more information on the project on our dedicated website: www.dairy2020.com Also keep up with our blog at http://www.forumforthefuture.org/blog... At Forum for the Future, we can't predict the future, but we can think more about the sort of future we want, and how to achieve it. We help organisations understand the system they operate in and the potential impacts of global trends like climate change, population growth and emerging technologies. We use a range of techniques to help them think in a useful and structured way about the future, to challenge their assumptions about the world, and to navigate risk and seize opportunity. The scenarios used here are not positive visions or predictions of the future, but rather thinking tools meant to open up the debate. The very point of using them is to depict - in a plausible but challenging way - what the future could look like across a number of different directions. Often, that future is quite unpleasant, and our intention is to communicate just that, in order to get people to wake up to the fact that business as usual is not going to lead to sustainable outcomes.
