Directed by Katsushi Sakurabi, it was originally broadcast from October 9 to December 25, 2003, and has been broadcast in Japan by TBS, BS-i, and the anime television network Animax, who have also later broadcast the series across its respective networks worldwide, including its English-language networks (under the title Lunar Legend Tsukihime, the series' only English language broadcasts) in Southeast Asia and South Asia, and its other networks in East Asia, South America and other regions. The title Tsukihime, Lunar Legend is only used in Geneon's North American DVD releases. The music for the series was composed by Toshiyuki Ōmori and has been released in two soundtracks.
