Basic SAXS Data Analysis and Validation

One of a series of lectures at the BioCAT Everything BioSAXS 9 workshop in February 2023. This lecture focuses on how to carry out basic data analysis and validation for small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS). It covers: - What a scattering profile is; - How poor sample quality, radiation damage, concentration, and bad buffer subtraction affects your data and how to diagnose these problems - Guinier fits to get radius of gyration (Rg) and scattering intensity at zero angle (I(0)) - Calculating molecular weight from SAXS data - Porod and Kratky analysis - Indirect Fourier transforms (IFTs) to get the pair-distance-distribution function (P(r)) Note that this video is an updated version of the previous basic SAXS analysis video.
