Structure of microscope: The microscope consists of many parts as shown in the figure below: Preparing a slide of plant cells: Tools Using the microscope to examine the slide : Steps 1. Put the slide on the stage and fix it with the stage clip. 2. Choose the suitable objective lens and look through the eyepiece. 3. Rotate the coarse focus and the fine focus to see a clear image for the sample on the slide. Observations ❶ When you examine the slide using the low power objective lens, you will see the cells in small size as shown in the opposite figure ❷ When you examine the slide using the high power objective lens, you will see the cells in bigger size as shown in the opposite figure
