West Somerset Railway Summer Diesel Festival - Diesel Gala - 2023

Diesel to the West - A short trip to the West Somerset Railway, for the Summer Diesel Festival. I was here at the end of April for the spring steam spectacular, which you can watch using the link below. Between the 8th to the 10th of June, the West Somerset Railway ran their annual diesel gala. Featuring a wide selection of locomotives including visiting and our home fleet locomotives which are looked after by the Group. The West Somerset Railway didn't hold back from having an intensive timetable, though it wasn’t really a timetable when it was almost 1 hour behind schedule come the end of the day, rather, a rough guide. A couple of locomotives visiting for the weekend, including ; Class 25 No. D7659, Class 33 ‘Crompton’ No. 33002 “Sea King”, Class 55 ‘Deltic’ No. 55009 “Alycidon” & Class 14 No. D9551. These accompanied the full times at the West Somerset Railway, including; Class 09 No. D4107, Class 14 'Teddy Bear' No. D9526, Class 33 'Crompton' No. D6566, Class 33 'Crompton' No. D6575, Class 35 'Hymek' No. D7017 & Class 35 'Hymek’ No. D7018, though I didn’t see a Hymek all day!
