Today on The Outdoor Gear Review we do an Overview of the Eberlestock G1 Little Brother Assault pack. $190 for an incredible piece of gear that has some truly unique features. .... Eberlestock G1 Little Brother .... This is essentially a 3 day assault pack that is typically part of the J79 Skycrane II pack but it can be purchased separately and that is what I have done here. This pack comes in at $189 and features 1800 cubic inches of space. This is a weapon portable system and a scabbard can be installed and carried in the back of the pack and essentially has an expansion pocket. Top and front loading pack. Covered in Molle and pals webbing inside and outside. Features compression straps as well Has two hydration sleeves on the interior of the back wall that will hold two 3 liter bladders. Comes with the harness but not the hip belt. I went ahead and purchased one since I like the support and wanted the additional load bear capability Also I purchased the Endo frame that slides into the packs main compartment. This adds vertical and lateral stiffness. The frame also contours to the natural shape of the spine which assists with comfort. Lots of Velcro strap keepers to keep all of the straps nice and neat. Also with this set up I have attached two large saddle bags to the sides of the pack which give a large amount of additional space. These can be used for gear or to hold additional hydration bladders. Cost broken down by component: Bag : $189 Belt: $19.00 Endo Frame: 20.00 Saddle Bags: $28.00 Rain Cover: $25.00 .... With Eberlestock products you can see that they do not offer cheap gear but it's important to keep in mind the level of product that you are receiving. Very high quality. Backed with a great warranty. Bullet proof build. Eberlestock may not be a household name here in the States but in war torn areas like Afghanistan they are very popular due to their quality and thought-out designs. Good enough for them, good enough for me.
