The very talented female dance performers from Haryana presented their cultural folk dance, called - Jhumar at 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela ( 2019 ). Jhumar is the most popular and traditional dance of Haryana. This dance got its name from the ornament “Jhumar”, which is worn by the young married women of Haryana to decorate their forehead. Jhumar dance is performed on the beats of the musical instruments such as thali and dholak. To perform this dance, the performers dress themselves in colorful costumes and embellish with shimmering jewelries. There are many variations that took place while performing this dance, reflecting attractive movements. At the same time, dancers move in a circle gracefully to spread the charm of dance everywhere.
