Newly completed backyard drainage project in action during a medium then heavy downpour. I discovered two issues with the system. One is there is a major choke point along the back property fence which is the lowest point on the property. The 4" perforated pipe runs approximately 65 feet then enters into an NDS 12x12" catch basin. The problem is the catch basin has a 3" inlet and 3" outlet. So the amount of water that my system is trying to move is choking down and causing a little backup. I plan to insert a Y before this catch basin and discharge directly into the 1st sump basin. This will double my throughput. The second issue I discovered is the gutter downspout near the generator overwhelmed the catch basin system that I put in place. The discharge is buried underground in a gravel channel. I will either have to tie directly into the French drain or come out with a popup above the French drain.
