Pressure Tech's Jordon Cullen returns to ULEMCo for insight into fuel cell technology development.

Jordon Cullen meets up with Adam McLoughlin, Senior Development Engineer at ULEMCo to get an insight of their fuel cell technology development and projects. We learn how ULEMCo have created a fuel cell test rig with the support from Pressure Tech's AUTO438 regulator, enabling their engineers to develop custom control strategies and test system components with different fuel cells, including one from Toyota, before integrating into a vehicle application. This development is being adopted into emergency response applications, where the fuel cell technology offers a range of complementing advantages when used with a battery electric vehicle, including quick hydrogen refuelling instead of long electric recharging times to minimise the vehicle's downtime, and to offer additional onboard energy that can be used to support the vehicle for longer shifts or additional back-up power whenever required.
