The estate, now in the care of the National Trust, was the former home of Nancy Astor – the first female member of parliament. Watch the video to explore Cliveden’s world-famous gardens, starting with the parterre overlooking the Thames. New bedding for summer pays homage to former Head Gardener, John Fleming, who was a pioneer of ribbon and carpet bedding during the 19th century. You’ll explore the Rose Garden, home to more than 900 roses of varying heights and colours. This video will also take you to the Long Garden, where unusual topiary and sculptures flank long beds of seasonal flowers – a scheme first brought to life by garden designer Norah Lindsay.
