Trimming My Hair: The Jayne Matthews Method

I learned how to trim my bangs, sides and crown by watching Jayne Matthews’ amazing video tutorials. I’ve been doing this for four years and I was terrified at first. I had never cut my hair myself before. In her videos, Jayne explains it all in a very understandable way and walks through the process slowly giving lots of great tips throughout. I use a Feather Styling Razor to cut it. It is hard to explain how empowering it is to be able to do this. Like anything you get better with practice and I now feel pretty comfortable doing it. I like that I can do little touch ups every month or so. Every three months I go in and do more of a cut. One of the hardest things is to stop cutting. The temptation is to keep going when the hair dries. Try not to. It’s meant to be perfectly imperfect! I let it air dry and voila here’s the finished result. What do you think?
