Bodega Catena Zapata is one of the foremost wine estates in Mendoza, in Argentina. Founded in 1902 and still in family hands, it is particularly known for its rich, full-bodied red wines produced made from Malbec. The estate comprises six vineyards in the Lujan de Cuyo, Tupungato and San Carlos sub-regions of Mendoza, at altitudes ranging from 3000 to 4750 feet (920 to 1450 meters) above sea level. Their winery, is a striking Mayan-influenced pyramid shaped building, located in Agrelo, in Lujan de Cuyo. Malbec Argentino is a blend of Catena Zapata’s best historic Malbec vineyards, Adrianna and Nicasia.
