With immense gratitude to Allah, I am thrilled to share with all of you a short documentary film that marked my turbaning ceremony earlier this year as the Turaki of the Adamawa/Fombina Kingdom. My deep appreciation goes to the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa for finding my father His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, deserving of the honourable title of Waziri Adamawa, which is the most important position in the Fombina Kingdom after the Lamido. Before elevating the current Waziri, my Father served as the Turaki Adamawa for a historic 36 years. Indeed, I’m absolutely honoured that apart from elevating my Father from the position of Turaki to Waziri, HRH the Lamido found my character worthy of being the new Turaki Adamawa at the age of 26. H.E. Atiku Abubakar’s reign as Turaki Adamawa was one that can be described as an example of serving the people of the Fombina Kingdom. It gives me great pride and pleasure that he was able to serve with distinction, thereby leaving indelible marks in the history of the Kingdom. To say he has left big shoes for me to fill is certainly not in doubt. However, I am fully committed to serving the Lamido and the entire citizens of the Kingdom and beyond. With great faith in Allah and confidence in the Adamawa Emirate Council, I will strive to continue to give my very best to fulfil the oath I took, which is to serve the Lamido, the people and always pursue activities that will bring societal development to our doorsteps. Finally, I am thankful and appreciative to thousands of you, who joined my family to witness the memorable occasion of my turbaning. I also thank all those who couldn’t make it, but were generous enough to send their prayers and goodwill. I am very humbled. Long live HRH the Lamido and may God bless you all. Enjoy the film.
