For today I'm not going to talk about any specific models but I want to cover three things that Dapol have done that I would like to see more of from all railway model manufacturers. 1. The provision packaging that is capable of protecting even the heaviest of models during transit. 2. The option of (free) downloadable electronic catalogues updated on at least an annual basis but potentially more frequently to account for changes in line-ups, availability etc. Can be in addition to paper versions where a requirement for those still exists. 3. The provision of cost effective and generally available replacement body shells across different livery variants for not only repair purposes but as replacement shells to allow modelers to swap between their favourite liveries without incurring the cost of purchasing multiple full locomotives.
