MAXIMUM EXECUTION: How PERFECT can Simone Biles be on floor? (Stuttgart 2019)

How high can Simone Biles’s execution score go? How perfect can she be? By combining Simone’s top elements on floor exercise from Stuttgart 2019 Worlds, including her triple-double, Biles I, and Silivas, one can try to calculate a “maximum” score. Here, I’ve spliced elements from her qualifications floor, her team final floor, her all-around final floor, and her event final floor routines in order to create a routine with minimal deductions. This video is for educational and entertainment purposes. Please take it with a grain of salt — there’s no true way to find a “maximum” or “most perfect” score. I just thought it would be cool to see what I could find when trying to give a high score :). If one was to include other routines and elements, like those from the Olympics, I can imagine that the score would go even higher! Also, this video only focuses on execution score — things like rounding the Gogean and connecting the Stag Leap to the Biles would change her score too. This video isn’t 100% accurate because it doesn’t factor in minimizing artistic deductions, although I do not believe Simone incurs a significant amount of those deductions for them to be super important. I talk a bit about this near the end of the video. Additionally, I tried to judge a bit leniently (ie fewer deductions for precision or excessive preparation) in order to see how high the number could go when “on the fence” deductions aren’t taken. When you’re trying to find a maximum score, being strict is not the best way to do so 😅! Notes: When I display the top execution scores in the start of the video, I didn't include every gymnast who had achieved each score because it would've required too much space. I included a few for reference. I only included the athlete's highest D-score: Simone usually is at a 6.6, but 6.7 is her layout with the stag. If I'm not mistaken, the judges in Stuttgart never credited her Gogean. Dance elements were virtually the same in each routine, so I used the all-around ones because the footage was nice. I didn’t take off for precision on her Switch Split 1/1 (D) to be consistent with my other scoring video of Simone, which did not have such a deduction. I’m on the fence as to whether or not I would take it. In this video, I didn’t take on the fence deductions as to “maximize” the score. I didn’t take off for excessive preparation on the Double Wolf Turn (D) for the same reason — looking back, that was probably the strictest deduction I have taken in a video! Her third pass — Front Layout 1/1 (C) + Full-In (E) — was actually a bit nicer in the team final, but the deduction on landing was the same (0.1 for a small hop either way), so I used the event final footage because it was nicer. It’s interesting how the Full-In is her easiest “main” tumbling skill, but it has the same amount of form deductions as the Biles II! Simone is awesome. I considered her Silivas (H) in her last pass to be “stuck” for the purposes of this video. Although she does move a bit, it's only up and down, and her feet do not leave the ground nor do they shift on the floor. I didn’t take off a landing deduction as there was no “small step”, “small hop”, or “adjustment” present. If you disagree, please tell me in the comments! I could be totally wrong about this. This video does not intend to criticize Simone. She is a phenomenal athlete, and as we can see in the video, she is totally capable of earning huge scores without splicing! Her team final floor was the best thing I’ve seen on floor in a while. This video only aims to highlight some of her best skills and explain a bit about how E-scores can be calculated. Simone Biles: 2019 Stuttgart Worlds, Artistic Gymnastics — Floor Exercise/FX Scores Qualification/QF: 14.833 (8.433, -0.2) Team Final/TF: 15.333 (8.733) All-Around Final/AA: 14.400 (8.200, -0.4) Event Final/EF: 15.133 (8.533, -0.1) “Maximum” score at Stuttgart 2019: 15.500 (8.900) What would you have given her in this routine? Would you have substituted a different tumbling pass in than the ones featured in the video? Could Simone hit a 9.000 in competition? Tell me below in the comments! I usually respond to most comments. I’ve been recently dealing with a YouTube glitch where comments disappear and can’t be restored, so if I don’t respond, I promise I’m not trying to ignore you or deleting your comments ://.
