"Queer" screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes on adapting William S. Burroughs' novel at NYFF 62

On the red carpet at the 62nd New York Film Festival for the US Premiere of Luca Guadagnino's Queer, screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes spoke with The Queer Review's editor James Kleinmann about his approach to adapting William S. Burroughs' novel and collaborating with Guadagnino again after their work on Challengers released earlier in 2024. Queer synopsis: In 1950s Mexico City, William Lee (Daniel Craig), an American ex-pat in his late forties, leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. The arrival in town of Eugene Allerton, a young student, stirs William into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone. The 62nd New York Film Festival continues until October 14th, 2024. Queer opens in select theaters on November 27th, 2024 from A24.
