In the past few months, many news publishers in the US have announced layoffs. Others have tweaked or abandoned their paywalls and pursued more open models. And yet, beyond the Anglosphere, some news organizations are now sustainable through memberships and subscriptions despite operating in poorer countries, smaller markets or more challenging environments. In this panel discussion we'll learn from the experiences of three successful news organizations with reader revenue models in Spain, France and Latin America. The panel will be moderated by Eduardo Suárez, Head of Editorial of the Reuters Institute, who has studied this issue for years and will provide insights from the Institute's research.
