Switching at an ops session at the WBMRA with LocoFi

We had the honor to be invited to an ops session at this hidden gem in Menlo Park. This is the West Bay Model Railroad Association (WBMRA). We showed up, took out our engines and were asked to choose one of the spare DCC throttles they had. We instead took out our smartphones from our pockets. Thinking that we wanted to use their newly installed WiFi with DCC, we were asked what the locomotive number/addresses were. We looked at each other and said that our engines only have names, not just a number. That's when we introduced LocoFi and skeptical as it should be, our engines were tested on a test/programming track to see if they will even operate on the layout. After the test passed, they were put on the mainline and given a string of cars. We launched the app, created a consist, startup sequence and were running in no time, it was nothing short of pleasant surprises for many members. Thank you WBMRA. We will come again! You guys have a beautiful layout and friendly members to work with and have fun.
