This parts can be purchased for less than $100 dollars. I actually purchased my clutch replacement kit from eBay for $45. The kit comes with a new coil, pulley, clutch, 2 snap rings and a 10mm bolt. If your clutch is not engaging, you want to first look at your AC relay as well as the magnetic clutch coil fuse in your fuse box. If the relay and the the fuse are good then the problem is most likely the clutch. The problem with this is that most shop will not just replace the clutch. They will want to replace the whole compressor and this job will range from $800.00 up to $1,500. So you can either ask a friend who likes working on cars or you may have to tackle this by yourself to save money. The good news is that this job is not hard to accomplish and you can do this without removing the compressor. For the Honda Odyssey, the access is a little tight so I highly suggest that you invest in a snap ring plier. I chose to invest in a set of 4 thinking that I have more option if needed but that was a mistake. If you are to purchase a snap ring plier, look for the ones with 2 inches deep 90 degree end. I believe I spend at least 90 minutes trying to remove and put back the snap rings because the pliers I purchase is a little small for the job. Also if you prefer not to go under the car, I recommend getting a pulley puller. You can also purchase a pulley puller from amazon or rent it from autozone. If you have the right tools you should be able to do the job in 90 minutes or less. This is my first time doing this project and I was able to do it in 3 hours and that includes doing the recording and the other 90 minutes trying to remove and install the snap ring. If you don't have the time to watch how I did it, you can jump to 15:35 mark where I talk about the process on the bench but if you want to have an idea how to access the compressor and how the actual install goes then simply scrub through the video and stop on the part that you wanted to see. I hope that this video gives you the courage to tackle the project yourself and I appreciate a comment or feedback on how helpful this video is to you. If I can do it you can do it too.
