Rachel Billings performs Chopin's Etude Op. 25 No. 1 (nicknamed "Aeolian Harp"). None of the nicknames for the etudes were given by Chopin but by others and became familiar over time. Nevertheless I think the "Harp" nickname for this piece is very suitable. Interestingly there IS an arrangement of this etude for the harp (google "harp" and "Chopin etude" to find a video of Rosanna Rolton who plays it beautifully). Out of curiosity I googled the words "aeolian harp" ; apparently the aeolian harp is a "wind harp" (also known as an "harmonic harp" ) and not in the shape of a traditional harp at all but rather is a boxed shape - not that Chopin cared about any of that! He deliberately left it to the performers and listeners (if they wished) to form their own associations/imagery to match the music. The aeolian harp is the only string instrument that plays solely harmonic frequencies, creating a somewhat eerie and ethereal sound. I have no idea whether Robert Schumann, who is the first person said to have come up with the word "aeolian" in association with this etude (which is now the common nickname) had this in mind- just I thought it interesting to mention that detail.
