Updated 8/21/2022 - The watch is now 18 months. Went on a cave hike that contained 18,000 bats. Stunning experience BUT banged the ceramic bezel on a rail. Fortunately, the crystal and bezel itself sustained no scratches but the 5-min indices on the bezel had the lume crack right off the top. Now under lume, the whole watch lumes beautifully except that marker. Not a result of defect but that's what happens when you actually take your watch on adventures. Updated 3/25/2022: I’ve had the D7 for nearly 15 months, now and testing its sea diving prowess in the Aegean Mediterranean Sea (Greece to be specific), and it’s SOLID! No water penetration or fogging, very comfortable on the dives and the domed crystal does help visibility! Ceramic bezel holds up beautifully with no play, and does not have any give 15 months later… sort of important! I recently received my pre-ordered Vaer D7 Arctic Vintage style swiss-made diver watch. Many diver watches tend to closely mimic the Rolex Submariner or the Omega Seamaster, taking cues from both or either. I tend to believe that while all divers have to somewhat pay homage to the original(s), Vaer makes a successful effort to distinguish themselves and give us (the enthusiasts), an opportunity to experience a new type of diver watch with outstanding elements, superior quality at a price that defies logic.
