Voice No campaigner Warren Mundine says Indigenous activists who push for a treaty such as Lidia Thorpe and Thomas Mayo are “out to destroy” Australia. Prominent Yes campaigner Thomas Mayo believes the Voice to Parliament referendum would provide the “best chance” to shape a treaty while Independent MP Lidia Thorpe has said only a treaty will “end the war” against First Nations people. “This whole thing about the referendum, the Voice, is built on a lie – that Aboriginal people do not have voices,” Mr Mundine told Sky News host Amanda Stoker. “Every corporation in Australia, every sporting body, every church … they all have Indigenous advisory committees or advisors. “When they talk about treaty, what they are talking about is actually overriding the traditional owners of this country.”
