Sisters In Arms #46 - Join us as we discuss GRPC 2024, SAF, GOAL, and The Civil Rights Coalition.

Welcome to Sisters in Arms - A Firearm Story (SIA). In this episode, we talk about: The Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) is an annual event organized by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), a nonprofit dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the fundamental rights enshrined in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. SAF's mission is to save lives, protect property, and preserve the rights to self-defense and firearm ownership through aggressive legal action and public education. This year, Kerrie Ann Auclair was honored to speak at GRPC and accept the Grassroots Organization of the Year award on behalf of Gun Owners' Action League (GOAL). This award recognizes GOAL's tireless dedication to protecting individuals' rights to keep and bear arms. Kerrie Ann stated, "It was an incredible experience to share the stage with leaders in the Second Amendment community, such as Massad Ayoob (President of SAF), Alan Gottlieb (Executive Vice President), and Adam Kraut (Executive Director)." Guest Shoutouts for the GRPC: Charlie Cook, MC for the GRPC and Host of Riding Shotgun with Charlie Mark Walters, MC for the GRPC and Syndicated host of two radio programs, Armed American Radio and Armed American Radios Daily Defense John Petrolino – "The Pen Patriot," Author, and Writer for Bearing Arms Jared Yanis – Host of Guns & Gadgets Cheryl Todd – Arizona State Director for Women for Gun Rights and Executive Producer of Gun Freedom Radio Amanda Suffecool – Regional Director for Women for Gun Rights and Co-Host of Eye on the Target Radio And many more incredible advocates! The Civil Rights Coalition in MA: Fighting H4885 In Massachusetts, there is an ongoing battle against the passage of H4885, a law that threatens our Second Amendment rights. The Civil Rights Coalition and GOAL launched a massive grassroots effort to get H4885 on the ballot and stall the Law Chapter 135 and Act of 2024. The Civil Rights Coalition organized a massive grassroots petition to get this unconstitutional law on the ballot and allow Massachusetts citizens to vote; this effort could also potentially suspend the law for two years. As of 10/21/2024, they had gathered over 92,241 signatures in the campaign. Despite their efforts, Governor Maura Healey put an emergency preamble on H4885, preventing the suspension and enacting the law immediately. This was a significant setback, but we are not giving up. Our fight continues to ensure that unconstitutional laws like this do not erode the fundamental rights that are the cornerstone of our democracy. However, the Coalition successfully got it on the ballot for 2026, and M.A. will continue fighting.
