Sustainable Intensification for Resilient Agri-Food Systems

This session was part of the 2023 Water for Food Global Conference held May 8-11, 2023 in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. In less developed countries, mixed farming systems are key to food production, resilience, and improved livelihoods. Within these systems, innovations for water management for small-scale farmers is an urgent necessity. Systems approaches help to broaden our understanding of the diversity of farming systems. This session will focus on irrigation-related innovations that exist or should be developed in the near future with applications across a wide range of agro-ecologies, but with a focus on African and Asian countries.
