ABOUT EARL STRICKLAND: Notorious for his outspoken views and electrifying tournament presence, Earl started his journey with pool at just 8 years old, entering his first professional tournament by 16. His dazzling performance and victory at the Caesars Tahoe Billiard Classic in 1983 signaled his rise to national prominence. He continued to shine, winning the McDermott Masters 9-Ball Championship and later the 1988 PBA World 9-Ball Championship, in a memorable final against Mike Sigel. His extraordinary skill, endurance, patience, and tenacity set him apart, earning him the title of The National Billiard News Player of the Year in 1984. In 1996, Earl made history by being the first player to run 10 consecutive racks in a tournament at the PCA $1,000,000 Challenge, winning the largest cash prize to date. He holds the record for winning nine times at Mosconi Cup alongside Johnny Archer, and is the only player to have won the WPA World Nine-ball Championship in consecutive years.
