In this animated video essay / short documentary I go over how Trippie Redd Escaped The Clout Era. (don't read this, this gonna be tags lol) Some could say Trippie Redd came out in the Soundcloud scene but he really took off in 2017 or 2018 when artists like Lil Pump, Lil Xan, Smokepurrp, 6ix9ine, ugly god, and Blueface were around instead of the star studded 2016 class with Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty, Denzel Curry, 21 Savage, Kodak Black and more! I think a good way to call big 14 is "The Grinch" of the music industry. It seemed he wasn't going to be very relevant for so long but Trippie grew as an artists with his music and became versatile with his album like, Mansion Musk being Detroit Trap, Trip at Knight which was involving the Hyper Pop and Rage genre that was originally created by SoFaygo and Kan Kan. Some might even say Trippie Created Rage with his song "Hello Kitty" and he even released Neon Shark vs Pegasus which was a full rock album. Now he going back to his niche to the final installment to the Love Letter To You Series. Which is crazy to think of all the genres he's been through for when he started he dropped projects like, Awakening My Innerbeast, Beastmode, and Rock The World Trippie which all sounded very similar even though Q's & P's is the song that blew him up in 2016 which was produced by Piere Bourne which eventually he signed to 10k Projects, and this is when he was making music with Kodie Shane and Lil Wop. But in 2017 is where he really blew up with Love Scars and being featured on XXXTentacion's album 17 called F*ck Love which is now the most streamed song on Soundcloud ever. But when he started blowing up this was the time when Clout Rap was blowing up. He was starting beefs with people like 6ix9ine, Flexing all his jewelry and his money, and getting tattoo's and dying his hair, and part taking in drugs especially lean. It didn't seem like Trippie was gonna stay long especially with the downfall of clout rap at the end of 2018. It could've ended because of XXXTentacion death on June 18th or Denzel Curry's album taboo or it could've ended just because of a trend that comes and goes. Life's A Trip was his debut project into the mainstream and when It came out it was the most competitive year for hiphop with albums like, Question Mark by X, Scorpion by Drake, Astroworld by Travis Scott, Beer Bongs & Bentleys by Post Malone, Carter V by Lil Wayne, Goodbye & Good Riddance by Juice Wrld, Queen by Nicki Minaj, Kod by J Cole, Daytona by Pusha T, Invasion of Privacy by Cardi B, Dicaprio by JID, Swimming by Mac Miller, Some Rap Songs by Earl Sweatshirt, Die Lit by Playboi Carti, Drip Harder by Lil Baby and Gunna, Champions by Meek Mill, I Am I Was by 21 Savage, Ye by Kanye West, Kids See Ghost by Kid Cudi and Ye, and more. Trippie Wasn't taken seriously and it didn't take til years later to realize how good his music was. People are always judging his projects when the drop but as soon as time passes people start appreciating the music.
