GW Castles Regain Territory In The South West. 7029/5043 Haul The 'Mayflower' To Plymouth. 27/08/24

GW castles return to their old stomping ground as they haul the 'Mayflower' to Plymouth in style. Unassisted from Bristol and return, the pair tackled the Devon Banks with ease. The pair are captured heading through the Dawlish Sea Wall, recreating a once common sight some 60 years ago. To add to the GWR theme, we take a look at the Dartmouth Steam Railway, with 7827 'Lydham Manor' at the helm of the services. Meanwhile, the return working of the castles would again see 7029 leading the show, this time through Cockwood Harbour, recreating a timeless scene. The tour would shortly be held at Exeter St David's for a water stop. Allowing an opportunity to catch the pair at Bristol Temple Meads. Journeys end for the pair of castles as the class 20s; 20142/20189 would haul the diesel leg back to Birmingham New Street. Thanks for watching.
