I used to live close to this neighborhood and boy do I miss not being able to walk over in 15 minutes and grab some of the best food Los Angeles has to offer. This strip of West LA is a haven for Japanese goods enthusiasts with restaurants and cool shops lining Sawtelle Boulevard. Check out Tsujita Artisan Noodle for some delicious tsukemen (dipping style) ramen and then hit up Giant Robot to spend some cash on some cool anime and artsy knickknacks. If you're looking for a budget activity, I'd recommend hitting up Sawtelle Plaze, a plaza on Sawtelle Blvd that has a Nijiya market with extremely cheap sushi and bentos and a Daiso which is basically a Japanese dollar store.
